About Me

I have lived in Central Florida with my family since 2016 but am originally from upstate New York. My passion for sewing began when I was a child. My Grandmother Stella taught me how to sew on a Singer Featherweight. In Middle School, l took Home Economics where I learned pattern drafting. I also continued to learn more about sewing and fashion. Throughout High School, I continued sewing and pattern drafting. Fashioning my own clothing and looks.

Before the Pandemic I sewed off and on. Different kinds of projects to sewing books to sewing costumes. After the Pandemic I went to full time sewing. Mainly masks. In-between mask making, I was making quilts and garments.

Once businesses started to open back up here in Florida, I took several sewing classes at my local Sewing Studio to improve my sewing skills. I continue to further my sewing education by taking classes to advance my skills and learn new techniques.

This last January I had the pleasure teaching 10 High Schoolers at my local High School the art of sewing over a 2-week period.  I currently own 7 sewing machines. 2 are vintage. One of the vintage machines is a 1947 Singer Featherweight 221. My sweet husband Nick bought it for me at the AQS Quilt Show in Daytona Beach. In memory of my grandma, it is named Stella and is on display in my studio.

This past year we remodel our home and, in the process established a new space for sewing and added a Gammill Statler 26” to the sewing machine collection.

I also am a Member of the American Sewing Guild (ASG) and the American Quilting Society (AQS).
